CyberLeek, the mysterious figure responsible for leaking a frankly ridiculous amount of GTA 6 material earlier this year, has resurfaced and is now claiming to be preparing to release the entire game ahead of its official launch.

After going relatively quiet, CyberLeek has posted a new message claiming that the reason for the silence is because work has been underway on setting up a server capable of hosting what they describe as the “first GTA VI full build.”

“It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me,” the message reads. “The last few days I’ve been working on setting up a Server to host the first GTA VI full build.”

Obviously, that is an absolutely enormous claim and should be treated with the appropriate mountain of salt.

There is currently no independent evidence that CyberLeek actually possesses a complete build of Grand Theft Auto 6, never mind that one is about to be uploaded for everyone to download. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not confirmed that such a build has been compromised.

However, we do know from previously leaked material that CyberLeek appears to have access to some form of playable version of the game. Whether that is a limited slice, an older development build or something much closer to the final game is impossible to know from the outside.

What makes this latest development interesting, though, is where the claim is coming from.

The last time reports began circulating that CyberLeek was threatening to release the entire game via a dead man’s switch, things got messy very quickly. Insider Gaming ultimately retracted its report after discovering that the supposed CyberLeek statement it was based on had been fabricated.

With numerous copycat accounts springing up around the original leaks, figuring out what CyberLeek actually said — and which CyberLeek was even saying it — became surprisingly difficult.

This time around, however, the message appears to come from the original CyberLeek operation rather than one of the many accounts borrowing the name. That doesn’t necessarily mean the same person is still behind the keyboard.

During the original saga, CyberLeek discussed potentially giving another person access to their material, so it remains entirely possible that somebody else could now be operating the account. The anonymous nature of the whole thing makes verifying who is actually in control basically impossible.

All we can reasonably establish is that this is the same CyberLeek account and identity associated with the original GTA 6 leaks.

Hilariously, there’s another wrinkle to all of this. The original reports about a dead man’s switch designed to ensure the full game would be released if anything happened to CyberLeek were fake. CyberLeek’s own website, however, is now claiming that a dead man’s switch has been activated and that the release can no longer be stopped — even by CyberLeek.

So CyberLeek now appears to have taken some inspiration from a fake story about itself. The world is fucking crazy, man.

CyberLeek’s activities have also continued to have a financial element. Cryptocurrency and memecoins have repeatedly been promoted alongside the GTA 6 leaks, and the current CyberLeek Telegram has continued discussing and advertising crypto-related projects. The account recently floated launching another memecoin, supposedly to fund the creation of physical GTA 6 copies, while also promoting a Solana trading service using a CyberLeek referral code.

For a while, it looked like CyberLeek had simply faded away, potentially with a chunk of profit from its coins.

Instead, it now appears to be back — or, at the very least, the CyberLeek operation is — and claiming it has some very big plans ahead of GTA 6’s launch in November.
