Following a leak via a ratings board, 4A has confirmed that both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light are getting completely free PS5 and Xbox Series X/S native ports.

Both versions launch on October 29, and anyone who already owns the games will get the upgrades for free.

“Players on console can experience true 4K at 60FPS and upscaled 4K at 120FPS (with the right monitor or TV hardware), higher quality lighting, shadows and particle effects. Plus, we are supporting Adaptive Triggers for DualSense controllers and Impulse Triggers on Xbox controllers. Players will also benefit from hardware tessellation and displacement at runtime on consoles, Power Optimized Mode on Xbox and Power Saver Mode support for PlayStation.”

Meanwhile, Metro 2039 launches on February 4, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The next chapter takes us back to post-apocalyptic Moscow, following a new protagonist known as the Stranger as he returns to the Metro, where the factions have united under Hunter’s authoritarian Novoreich regime. Sounds like the tunnels haven’t become any more welcoming while we’ve been away.
