The wait is finally over for Xbox and PlayStation owners as Hades 2 is going to drop on both machines very, very soon, as announced at today’s Xbox Partner event.
Hades 2 will hit Xbox and PlayStation on April 14th, and will also launch straight onto Game Pass as a Play Anywhere title.
This follows a period of being a Switch console exclusive since September of 2025 when it came out of Early Access on Steam and launched in full 1.0. Prior to that, Hades 2 spent a while as an Early Access title, having first become available in May of 2024.
It’s the sequel to the amazing Hades, one of my favourite games. Despite this, I still haven’t actually played Hades 2. I don’t know why – perhaps seem weird fear it wouldn’t be as good as the first, or maybe a sensation that I got my fill from the first game.
Whatever it is, I think I’ll be jumping in on PS5 as soon as it launches, because I’ve heard nothing but good things. I mean, it has a score of 95 on Opencritic, and a playe score of 100. And on Steam, it’s “Overwhelmingly Positive” based on the user reviews.
