After a month-long hiatus the 16th episode of my solo podcast is live, and if you hit the play button you can listen to my rasping, harsh vocals for a whopping 45-minutes or so! What a glorious way to waste a chunk of your day!
On this episode I gush about The Suicide Squad (2021) movie, complain about chest infections, talk about Outriders not breaking even yet, RiMS racing, and the entire Blue Box saga getting stranger and stranger.
The passing of time tends to erode a game. A lot of the time an old game we have fond memories of doesn’t feel so good when we dust it off and play it in 2019, which is understandable because of the technical limitations of the time. But there are some games whose gameplay mechanics are so damn refined, so bloody good that even today they feel amazing. As this remake proves Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is one such game, a kart racing series that sadly fizzled out while Mario Kart carried on. But now its back with a fresh lick of paint and ready to take top spot on the podium.
According to the mighty Games Cabin Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has a day one patch that’s somehow bigger than the game itself. The patch comes in at 7.7GB while the game itself is only 4.6GB. Uh, what? The discovery was made when the website pre-loaded the game. […]

Last years Call of Duty: Ghosts was a low point for the series with a dull campaign and multiplayer that ignored the efforts of Treyarch’s Black Ops II to move the franchise forward. This has left newcomer Sledgehammer Games with the task of cleaning up the mess, and to a large degree they’ve done just so, and in the process painted Infinity Ward, the developer responsible for making Call of Duty a household name, as the weakest of the three teams now tasked with working on the series.
Activision and Bungie have today announced that the very first expansion pack for Destiny, titled The Dark Below, will launch on December 9th with a relatively hefty price-tag of £19.99. If you own the Destiny Expansion Pass you’ll be able to download it at no extra cost. o […]
Like a proverbial fireball from the heavens Destiny has arrived in a blaze of high sales and fire, but not before the deadly and dangerous hype train pulled into the station in order to deliver the preachers spouting their nonsense, coaxing the people to believe that the fire would be great and amazing and Earth changing. All hail the cleansing fire.
For Bungie I can only imagine that it’s a slightly stressful time. Although they did create several critical hits before going on to sculpt Halo, the team as it stands now is a one-hit wonder, known almost exclusively for their work on the legendary Halo series. With Master […]
