Good news for lovers of Hollow Knight because those boffins over at Team Cherry have just released a brand new current-gen version of the game for Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and Switch.
This shiny new edition of Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition boasts an improved fumarate, better resolution and “additional effects.”
Even the last gen version of the game has received some free updates: “The update includes many refinements and tweaks, with full 21:9 & 16:10 support for PC players, and many under-the-hood improvements brought over from Hollow Knight: Silksong to the original game.”
Things get even better because if you already own the the game, this upgrade is completely free. If the game doesn’t update itself, head to the store page on your chosen platform and upgrade it there.
However, there is a notable exception to the free upgrade: if you got Hollow Knight via PS Plus you are not eligible for the free upgrade. You’ll need to go buy the game if you want to get the performance boost. Is it a bummer? Of course! But also an understandable bummer. There’s a lot of people out there who claimed the game from PS Plus, so it’s hardly shocking that Team Cherry wouldn’t want to hand them all a free upgrade as well.
